The name of this painting truly fits because life is truly universal. In this piece I created a gorgeous oak tree sandwiched between two gold & silver Celtic crosses that show a blend of the new and old religions because trees were very sacred to the Celtic people; in fact, the word for oak- "daur" gives us the English word "door" because they believed trees to be a way to the afterlife. I decided to try and paint my first Celtic people for this piece to show that without trees, humans are nothing and of course birds and trees go hand in hand and these beautiful peacock style birds fill out the top corners very nicely indeed.
