I went a different way with this Celtic knot; for reasons not known to me I was inspired to create a Celtic Turtle. There's been a lot of news about how turtles are being devastated in the wild due to many factors and I thought a Celtic turtle would make a wonderful painting. I've painted this beauty with a green outline, gold head & tail and several awesome spirals in the arms, legs & shell of the turtle. To either side I have 2 rows of sea blue and sea green spirals that represent the turtle's eggs that help to renew the cycle of life. In each corner I have painted Celtic waves in three different tones of blue and between them I have another wave with 2 Celtic waves strumming off it with a turtle egg in the middle and wonderful spirals coming off each side. On either side I have a pair of matching wave spirals to give an even closer affinity to the ocean and all life therein.
